Canonical Hours

For Catholicism , the canonical hours are liturgical which are devoted to prayer , in addition to Mass daily, within religious orders as well as for the secular clergy.

Traditionally, the day has seven canonical hours and night:

In monasteries, the Divine Office is the main performance of the day. "As the Prophet said:" Seven times a day, I proclaim your praise " Hours secular

As the monks every Catholic clergy, secular or regular , are compelled to pray for hours. To do this, they use the bible , a collection of these offices. The secular clergy not having a schedule set as the monks, they are allowed not to say the prayers at the prescribed time, but they must apply to celebrate this day in office.
