Caleb (Character)
Caleb is a character biblical Israelite of the tribe of Judah. It belongs to the generation of the output of Egypt.
Caleb is first mentioned in the book of Exodus : among the twelve spies sent by Moses to recognize the land of Canaan , it was with Joshua , the only praise the promised land on his return. All other explained that the Israelites conquered the country would be impossible. This will apply to Caleb and Joshua to be the only adult men out of Egypt who will be given to enter the land of Canaan.
In the book of Joshua , Caleb receives shares the mountain and the city of Hebron , and he promises the hand of his daughter Akhsa to him who will seize the city of Dabir. His nephew Othniel have that honor. With the insistence of Akhsa, Caleb will also give them sources and land. The first chapter of the book of Judges recalled the same story.
