The Orthodox Church of Belarus or any Exarchate of Belarus is a court of the Orthodox Church self-administered canonically attached to the Patriarchate of Moscow and All Russia. The head of the Church carries the title of Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Exarch of all Belarus, with residence in Minsk (incumbent: His Beatitude Filaret History

Since 1990 , the Belarusian Orthodox Church enjoys a status of semi-autonomy within the Russian Orthodox Church.

Organization

The Orthodox dioceses in Belarus are grouped into a Exarchate headed by a local synod. However, decisions of this synod are subject to approval by the Synod of the Russian Church.

The Belarusian Exarchate has ten dioceses:

  • Diocese of Brest and Kobrin
  • Diocese of Gomel and Zhlobin
  • Diocese of Grodno and Lida
  • Diocese of Minsk and Slutsk
  • Mogilev diocese and Mstislavl
  • Diocese of Novogrudok and Volovys
  • Diocese of Pinsk and Louninets
  • Bishop of Polotsk and Gloubok
  • Diocese of Tourov and Mozyr
  • Diocese of Vitebsk and Orchansk
