Bte De L'Apocalypse

The Beast of the Sea, Tapestry of the Apocalypse , Chateau d'Angers.

The Beast is a figure of the Christian eschatology and Islam.

Summary

/ / In Christianity

In the Apocalypse of Saint John , the beast of the Apocalypse is a beast with seven heads and ten horns, which represents a political system where power is given by Satan , covers all people who adhere to the receiving mark of the beast. This mark is the 666 (Number of the Beast). The peculiarity of this political system - and thus of the beast - is to strongly oppose God and all that represents. In the Apocalypse, Satan or the Devil , is represented by a dragon.

In Islam

The Qur'an mentions the Beast as the "Dabba" in a verse of Sura . There are also details of his appearances in tradition ( Hadith ), including the time of his coming.

"The Monster" or "the beast" referred to in this verse is also called "Al-Jassassa" (spy) in Muslim tradition ( Sunnah ). Commentators give details on the size and shape of the beast, details they trace either Muhammad or to ` Ali , or Abu Hurayra , companion of the Prophet Muhammad. Thus, the monster must be sixty cubits long and has the bull's head, eyes pork ears of the elephant, the horns of a stag, the neck of an ostrich, a breast of the lion's tail ram, camel's feet. We can not reach it in its progress, or to escape pursuit. It will be released, according to tradition, a large mosque . This monster must be the stick of Moses and the Seal of Solomon. Everywhere along its path it will mark the men of one or the other. Those affected the stick of Moses will face dazzling white, they are good and those who bear the imprint of the seal, have black faces, are the reprobate .

In the tafsir of verse 82 of Sura 27, Ibn Kathir quotes a hadith reported by Abu Hurairah that Muhammad reportedly said: "Hasten to do good works before the production of these six signs: The Sunrise of its setting, the smoke, the Antichrist, the Beast, the occupation of one of you his own business and neglect the affairs of the community. "
