Book Of Micah
The book of Micah is a book of the Old Testament. The prophet Micah was instructed by God to restore peace and justice in Israel. He was a Jewish prophet.
It is the only book of the Old Testament to point out that Bethlehem was the place where the Messiah would be born (Micah 5:1). In the book, consult the Lord his people and reminded him of his past kindness to him and he calls it justice, mercy and humility (Micah 6:8).
According to the title of his book (1.1), Micah has exercised his ministry under the three kings of Judah Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah (758-698 BC). It is thus a contemporary of Hosea and Isaiah , but probably a younger contemporary of these two prophets, who had entered the career already under the predecessor of Jotham, Uzziah (Hosea 1.1; Isaiah 1.1). According to the book of Jeremiah (31:18), it is the time of Hezekiah that Micah had prophesied.
