Synopsis
Jess (short for Jesminder) is a British boy from a family in India. Passionate football fan of David Beckham , she meets Juliet, dubbed "Jules", who plays club Hounslow Harriers and persuades to come play in the club, coached by Joe. She sees it open to professional prospects rather distant from what his parents, rather traditionalist, had planned for her.

Gurinder Chadha, director, sees this as his most autobiographical film - although it has never been footballer. The film was shot in the district of London ( Hounslow ), where she spent her childhood and many extras are part of his own family. It Like Beckham belongs to a classic genre, the film whose message is: " no matter what others want you to be, do what you love if you're good at it "( Flashdance , Billy Elliot , ... There are many examples).
