Beit Alfa
Beit-Alfa is a kibbutz in the Jezreel Valley , located at the site of an ancient Jewish village of the same name, the sixth century BCE.
Summary |
The kibbutz was founded in 1922 by youth movement Hashomer Hatzair , from Poland , and is the first kibbutz established by this movement. During the events of 1929 , he was attacked by Arabs in the area. In the year 1930 , the kibbutz is facing strong internal ideological tensions, leading, in 1934 , a transfer of population; members of Beit-Alfa, followers of the ideas of Mapai go to Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan , and conversely, members of the latter, closer to the ideas of Hashomer Hatzair integrate Kibbutz Beit Alfa.
At its foundation, the kibbutz is facing many obstacles, opposition from the Bedouins of the region, the heat of 40 degrees in summer, a profusion of wetlands, diverse epidemics, resulting in the assignment by the kibbutz, some land to the KKL.
