Barabbas is a character in the New Testament. It is presented in the Gospels as a prisoner in the crowd demanded the release rather than Jesus.

The name of Barabbas appears several times in the Gospels. Especially in Matthew (chapter 27), Mark (chapter 15) and Luke (Chapters 23 and 18). Some of the manuscripts prnomment Jesus Symbolism and subsequent use

The etymological meaning of the name Barabbas is the son of the father (bar Aramaic : son of, and Abba, Father). The final "s" is a registered genitive Greek.

Pilate gave the people the choice together to save Barabbas or Jesus and the people chose Barabbas pardon. This story of the New Testament, referring to the Jews responsible for the crucifixion , has been used for antisemitic purposes by providing a basis for accusations of deicide people .
