Bamberg Cathedral (German: Bamberger Dom, official name Bamberger Dom St. Peter und St. Georg), World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, is the largest religious building in Bamberg. It is one of the best known architectural monuments in Germany and was the most famous landmark of Bamberg since its completion during the XIII century. The cathedral is under the administration of the Roman Catholic Church and is the seat of the Archdiocese of Bamberg.

The cathedral is of a novel late with four imposing towers. It was founded in 1004 by Emperor Henry II , completed in 1012 and consecrated on 6 May 1012 References
