Balamand Declaration
The Balamand Declaration is a declaration adopted on 23 June 1993 at the Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand in Lebanon on the occasion of the sixth meeting of the International Joint Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.
This statement on "Unia, method of union of past and current research of full communion" says that "Unia can not be a model of unity."
The question of the existence of Eastern Catholic Churches is one of the sticking points in discussions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox communion.
