Rabbeinu Asher ben Yehiel ( 1250 , Germany - 1327 , Toledo , Spain ), said the ( Hebrew "), is a major decision at the time of the Rishonim , the medieval masters. eminent Talmudic scholar , he is student - and son - Rabbi Meir of Rothenburg.

Descended from a long line rabbinical whose origin dates back to Rabbeinu Gershom ben Judah , he is the great-grand-son of Rabbi Eliezer ben Nathan of Mainz , one of guedolei Hador ("Great of his generation" ).
