Anglo Israelism
The Anglo-Israelism is a religious sect from the restorationist who claims that the Anglo-Saxon contemporaries, living in Britain and the United States , are direct descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes and are bound by a special alliance to throne David.
This theory has its origins in the English Reformation in the sixteenth century , when many English theologians have had to justify the separation occurred between the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church. They then presented the Anglo-Saxons as a chosen people who have origins in biblical and apostolic.
The influence of Anglo-Israelism account for much in the historical folklore of what is now called White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. The puritanical English was heavily influenced by the idea that the English race was chosen or elected to a messianic project.
Anglo-Jewish mythology is based on legends and historical myths, like the story of Joseph of Arimathea in England, the Historia regum Britanniae , the Matter of Britain , claims to the estate of King Arthur , legend that Paul of Tarsus came to England, etc..
Contemporary adherents of this stream are grouped into several groups or sects, with no central organization.
