Alphonse Balleydier

Baron Alphonse Victor Balleydier Christian, born on 15 January 1810 in Lyon , where he died on 10 November 1859 , is a writer, historian and biographer French.

Biography

Born into a bourgeois family of origin Savoy, the son of Gaspard Balleydier Prosper ( 1781 -?), merchant and banker in Lyon and Melanie Antoinette Hell ( 1786 - 1861 ), sister of Anne Chrtien Louis de Hell , cons- Admiral and Governor of the Isle Bourbon , whose personality shaping his early years.

Probably influenced by conflicting commitments of his cousins, Caesar Balleydier , a royalist lawyer guillotined, he first made known his ideas by working with conservative newspapers in Lyon. He then moved to Paris to publish stories by different deliveries.

Following the February Revolution, he puts his name to a number of historical compilations conceived in a spirit cons-revolutionary. He is the author of works inspired by a sense of social and political order, the most famous are the political and military history of the people of Lyon during the French Revolution and the history of the revolution in Rome. His History of the revolutions of the empire of Austria and his history of the war in Hungary, which are still authoritative today, earned him the title of Freiherr ( Baron ) and historian of the Emperor of Austria.

He also contributed to the Library of Education, for which he wrote novels, short story collections and stories, including several series of vigils, which met with great success at the time.
