Ali Ben Youssef
Ali Ben Youssef ( 1083 - 1142 ) ( Arabic : ) is the son of Yusuf Ibn Tasufin , belonging to the dynasty Berber of Almoravids. He will succeed his father in 1106 to reign for 37 years until his death in 1142.
He possessed in Africa part of the Maghreb , Europe and the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula ( Al-Andalus ). At the end of his reign, his power was shaken by the Almohad , which stripped him of several African provinces.
It was he who fortified the city of Marrakech , founded by his father.
