Alexius Ii Comnenus
Alexius II Comnenus, born 10 September 1169 , died in October 1183 , Emperor Byzantine from 1180 to 1183 , the son of Manuel I Komnenos and Maria of Antioch. In 1180, he married Agnes of France (1171-1240) , daughter of Louis VII and Alix de Champagne and renamed Anna.
Regent of the empire, Mary of Antioch raised against her discontent not only by its Latin origins, but also by naming as the advisor protosbaste Alexis Comnenus, the nephew of Manuel I and pro-Western sympathies.
In 1182 , his uncle sexagenarian Andronicus I Comnenus , organizing a coup following the massacre of the Latins from Constantinople and arrested Alexis II and his mother, before strangling them.
