Al-Imam Abu 'Abdi Llah Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Abi Bakr Al-Ansari Al-Qurtubi ( ) d (1214 - 1273) was a famous scholar Sunni theological school belonging to and acharite the school of jurisprudence Maliki.

Biography

He was born in Cordoba in Spain. His ancestors are from the tribe of Khazraj Arabia.

Like many children of the Andalusian era, he studied the Quran, the basics of theology and Islamic jurisprudence in its infancy. His father was a humble farmer killed by troops during an incursion Christian Christian in 1230. He then supported himself in need of his family as a potter, while continuing his studies. After the conquest of Cordoba by the Christian forces of King Fernando I in 1236, he emigrated to Alexandria in Egypt and then went to Cairo and finally Munyah Bani Khusayb. He then completed his studies and was perfected in Koranic exegesis and science of Hadith.

During his career as a student, he studied especially with Imams Abul 'Abbas Ahmad ibn' Umar ibn Ibrahim Al Ansari Al-Ash'ari al-Maliki, Abul Hasan Ali Ibn Muhammad Ibn Ali Al Yahsub Al Ash'ari al-Maliki, Abu Ali Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Bakr Al-Ash'ari Al Malik, Rashid Ud Din Abu Muhammad 'Abd ul Wahhab Ibn Al Azdi Rawaj Al Ash'ari Al Baha Ud Din Malik and Ibn Al-Lakhmi Al Jummayz Ash Shafi'i, this to become a great scientist. He left many works of high quality and always studied in many contemporary Islamic universities.

He died in one thousand two hundred seventy-three (671 AH) in Bani Munyah Khusayb (Egypt) where he was buried. His grave is still visited frequently by Muslim (s) worldwide.

Books

He wrote many books including the most famous are:

  • Al-Jami 'li Ahkm It Qur year. This is a voluminous work of Qur'anic exegesis in particular turned to Maliki jurisprudence and theology Ash'arite. A small portion was translated into English by Shaykh 'Aisha Bewley.
  • F Sharh Asma al Asna i Llah It Husni. It is a book that is the exegesis of the 99 names of Allah.
  • Qam 'Ul Hars bi Az Zuhd wal Qan'ah. It is a book on Sufism, particularly covering asceticism, diversion vis--vis this world, contentment face divine decree and the fact of relying on Allah, that one is in the ease or difficulty.
  • Has Tadhkirah. It is a book about death, the punishment of the grave, the end of time and the day of resurrection.
  • He did Tidhkar f Afdal Adhkar. Epistle dealing with the invocation of Allah and decency to respect for practice.
  • Sharh Taqass Ut, which is a long commentary of the work entitled written by Imam Ibn 'Abd He Barr.

He also wrote a poem on the names of the Prophet.
