Imam An-Nawawi ( Arabic : ) is considered among the leading commentators on the Hadith. It received the name of Sheikh al-Islam (Sheikh of Islam) Biography

He was born in the village of Nawa near Damascus in Syria . He learned the Koran from an early age and formed in various Islamic sciences such as Hadith , the Arabic language and Islamic jurisprudence. He was endowed with an excellent memory and was spent in the learning of religious studies and daily assistance to nearly twelve courses dealing with various branches of Islamic sciences His teachers

  • He wrote a commentary on Sahih Muslim. He also commented on some of Sahih Al-Bukhari, he stopped at Kitab Al-`Ilm (The Book of Knowledge), and called his comments Have Talkha. He also began a commentary on Sunan Abi Dawud. Imam As-Sakhawi said: "He came to the part dealing with ablutions and titled his commentary Al-Ijaz. I heard that the ascetic in his time, Ash-Shihab ibn Raslan, fully resumed the writing of Imam An-Nawawi early in his own commentary on Sunan Abi Dawud, and that as a tabarruk. .
