Abu Yahya Ibn Abd Al Haqq
Abu Yahya ibn Abd al-Haqq ( Abu Yahya ibn `Abd al-Haqq) was born on an unknown date. Abu Yahya was the third son of `Abd al-Haqq to take power as sultan in Merinid 1244. He died of illness in 1258.
History
The Almohad were still trying to rally the tribes Berber to fight Merinids. Abu Yahya took position in the region of Meknes. He pretended to ally with Hafsids installed in Tunisia. He retreated to the Algeria and after the defeat of the Almohad army he resumed the north of Morocco. He had even put down a rebellion in Fez (1250). He was buried in the Necropolis of Chella near Rabat that he had built (1258).
