Abu Sufyan Ibn Al Harith
Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith ( ) was born around 571 as his cousin and foster brother Muhammad the future Prophet of Islam.
During their childhood, Abu Sufyan and Muhammad were friends. One might think that it was Abu Sufyan among the first converts, it did not happen and instead, he was one of the slowest to convert to Islam.
Abu Sufyan was as skilful with the sword that language. He wrote satirical poems mocking the prophet of Islam. His whole family was converted except him. In 630, eight years after the Hegira, the Muslim community has become important, and about to submit Mecca, Abu Sufyan, worried about his future, decided to convert.
Shortly before the Battle of Hunayn, Abu Sufyan was introduced into the camp of the Muslims in Madinah and swore allegiance to Muhammad. During the battle, Abu Sufyan was found alongside Muhammad and protected against opponents.
One day Muhammad was with his wife Aisha outside the mosque, he asked: "Do you know who enters the mosque? "No," she said. He said: "My cousin Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith, he is always the first to enter the mosque and the last to leave and his eyes remain lowered during this time."
