Abd Allah Ibn Ubayy

Abd-Allah ibn Ubayy ( Arabic : ), also known as Ibn Sall in reference to his mother, was a senior leader of the tribe of Banu Khazraj of Yathrib , the future Medina. He converted to Islam shortly after the arrival of Muhammad in Yathrib. According to Ibn Ishaq and Tabari , Muhammad was suspicious of him, suspecting the sincerity of true conversion, and, according to tradition, it is a major "hypocrites" (Munafiqun) , "in fact the expulsion in the year II of the three Jewish tribes of Yathrib , as head of the Banu Khazraj whose Banu Qaynuqa are the "clients" (see Muslim and Jewish tribes of Yathrib ), Abd-Allah ibn Ubayy vigorously involved with Muhammad , arguing that he does not want to be destroyed "in one morning four hundred men without armor, and three hundred battleships.
