Abaddon

The name comes from the word Abaddon Hebrew , meaning "destruction" or "abyss." The corresponding Greek name Apollyon (the destroyer).

This name is used as a proper name to designate the exterminating angel of the abyss in the Apocalypse of St. John :

"At their head as king, they have the Angel of the Abyss, it is called in Hebrew" Abaddon "and Greek" Appolyn. " References
