- March 5 : Decazes seeks to rely on the left. It reverses most of the upper chamber appointed by sixty new peers. He dismisses the prefects extremists and try to win public opinion by liberal measures, especially on the press.

- Sept. 11 : Parliamentary elections: Third success Liberals.
- After the partial renewal of the Chamber of Deputies favorable to independent Decazes tries to reverse but was unable to rally the ultras. Uniting with the "independent" against the "government" voters ultras of the Isere are chosen as a conventional well-known member, former constitutional bishop Gregory , called regicide despite his absence on election day. Press ultra outcry, and the majority votes to expel the newly elected House.
